Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO for short) is an FPS game developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden Path Entertainment. These two companies are also the companies that developed Counter Strike: Source. Counter Strike: GO is the fourth game in the Counter Strike franchise, excluding Counter Strike Neo and Online. Counter Strike Global Offensive was released on 21 August 2012 and can be played on Microsoft Windows, OS X, Xbox Live Arcade, and the American version of Playstation Network. Counter Strike: Global Offensive features the classic maps found in previous versions and some new maps and additional characters. This game can be played using several different platforms namely Windows, OS X and PSN.
As in previous versions, Counter Strike: Global Offensive is a game with a first-person perspective. The game is designed with the player as the shooter. Players can join either a Terrorist or Anti-Terrorist group where they are required to complete missions or eliminate enemy groups. The game takes place in short rounds and ends when the player is defeated or the mission is completed. In most game modes, the losing player has to wait until the round is over to participate again. In this game, players can purchase weapons and other equipment at the start using money earned based on mission completion performance. In addition to the money awarded for completing missions or defeating enemies, there is also a money deduction system if players make mistakes such as killing hostages or teammates. In addition, each player is rewarded with money for each round completed and the winning team will earn more money.
Currently, Counter Strike: Global Offensive has 6 game modes for online play:
Classic Casual and Competitive: this game mode is the mode that Counter Strike players are most familiar with. In this mode, there are missions for bomb defusing and hostage liberation. At the beginning of each round, players can purchase weapons and other equipment with money earned from actions ranging from helping kill enemies to completing missions. For both types of missions, each round ends when a team has completed its mission or defeated the other team.
Bomb Defusal: The Terrorist team must plant C4 explosives in a designated area and the Anti-Terrorist team must prevent the bomb from exploding.
Hostage Release: The Anti-Terrorist team must free some hostages from the Terrorist team and take them to a designated place. The Terrorist team must prevent the hostages from escaping. For both teams, killing a hostage will result in a penalty of reduced money.
Arms Race: a game mode that uses a deathmatch system where each player will be given a monetary reward for each defeated enemy using a new weapon, where the first player to defeat the enemy with a certain number of weapons will win the game.
Demolition: this game mode does not allow players to buy weapons at the beginning of the game, but will give a predetermined new weapon for each defeated enemy.
Deathmatch: this mode is given a time limit of 10 minutes, where players are required to achieve the highest score by defeating enemies with different weapons. The points received by the player depends on the type of weapon used. Players can also receive additional time for each weapon used to earn additional points.
Danger Zone: Danger Zone is a battle royale mode where players search for equipment and engage in combat with each other in a shrinking battle arena, and the last player (or team of players) to survive is the winner. This mode has a maximum of 18 players per game, in both Solo and Duo modes.
